I don’t really have a lot to say right now about Christian’s show last night because so much has happened and we’re a big pile of exhaustion. I can barely stay upright at the moment, and I have to try and do a shoot tonight. I will say that 1) he made me so proud I teared up again, 2) all the reviews and comments have been deservedly incredible so far, 3) my seat was front row next to Katrina Bowden from 30 Rock who I totally love, and 4) Heidi Klum is simply a force of nature. She told CNN that she loved the song I did for the runway music! Also, today I went with Christian to do a fitting with Heidi of some stuff and boom, she was naked. I guess I didn’t really realize that a fitting meant being tits-out in a room with a stranger, but there you go.

I had seen so much of the collection go from drawing to dress, but seeing it on the runway on models like Selita Ebanks with all the editors and buyers and celebrities sitting there loving it made me see everything in a new way. I was just so impressed that all that awe and admiration in the room was because of Christian. Here are some snapshots I took backstage and at the after party:

Last time I photographed Kit Williamson, he was on Broadway with Liev Schreiber. This time around he’s preparing for a new role, one which requires him to shave his head for the first time in his life. We decided to document the before, during, and after; ended up with some really amazing photos; and then he and I went and saw Stellastarr* preview their new album for a friends-only crowd. It was a pretty killer evening.

My mom arrives tomorrow afternoon for a few days to attend Christian’s show and because she loves me and I am a lot of fun to be around. If only you were my friend you would know how much fun I am. Will you be my friend? My mom says I’m special.

That’s Gideon Yago. You might know him from MTV News, CBS News, or perhaps from his interviews with Bush, Clinton, McCain, Kerry, and many of their Washington peripherals. Gideon is basically the face of you and me to The Olds when they blabber on to try and gain entry to or keep hold of their position in the White House. He also balances vodka on his head.

I think that perhaps 50% of the time that I’ve hung out with Gideon, he has balanced alcohol on his head. Of those times, only once has a tumbler shattered all over his living room, and I didn’t even have to help clean up! He knows how to entertain. Gideon Gaygo. Obsidian Dayglow. Leggo my Yago.

Yesterday Kathy and I inadvertently ran a halfway house again. Last year we had someone staying on the couch almost all the time. Often it was Jes before she moved nearby, which we liked. Sometimes it was a freeloader that we couldn’t seem to say no to. Last night it was all friends, and it felt good to have the house full again. This must be why my mom now collects strays. Evan’s staying with us on the air mattress downstairs for a bit while he finds his first New York apartment, Jes was over with Kathy and it was late so she stayed on the couch upstairs, and Christian was here with me. Felt like Chelsea and Anna should have been on the chairs in the living room.
Here are my two cents on this year’s VMAs: 1) Pink’s blue coat during her performance was designed and made last minute by Christian, and shipped with great haste. I think she looked amazing in it. 2) Christina Aguilera just ganked Lady Gaga’s look and choreography so hardcore I can’t even believe it. And then her new song was the most blatant Goldfrapp/Kylie ripoff… that said, I loved the whole thing and I can’t wait for her new album. I guess I fell for it.

Internet Explorer blows. People who use IE to come to this website say that the galleries don’t come up correctly, and if I ever post a Youtube video, the site won’t load at all. Rather than ask my web guy try and fix it, I’m going to instead suggest that if you’ve never caught a Firefox then you ain’t no friend of mine. Internet Explorer is for people who enjoy it when their computer crashes. Stop using Internet Explorer.
Last night: Aveda party, rosemary mint mojitos, annoying drivers, bitchy interviewer, then Rachel Zoe, Nina Garcia, Diane Von Fabulous, and Gail Simmons being gorgeous. Tonight: shoot with Gideon, Love Brigade opening, Evan arriving for the weekend, and maybe finally a bit of nighttime relaxation with my long lost friend The Television.
That’s not my new album cover. I decided against that one. But it’s kinda pretty so there you go.

No pictures of my own to share from last night because I didn’t really feel like stuffing the little camera into a pocket of my dashing Ben Sherman suit (thank you Dana Dynamite!), but what a night it was! Christian and I went to the Samsung event celebrating the career of Valentino, which was an exhibit and party at The Grace Building. When Christian was talking to Vivica Fox, Mary J Blige leaned in to tell me she liked my hair because it was the mirror image of hers. So, now, Madonna and Mary J have both complimented my hair unprompted. Maybe I will stop complaining all the damn time about how much I hate my hair.
I’m just going to do a celebrity rundown and get it out of the way because I know that’s the only reason half of you still read my blog. Mary J and Vivica are awesome. Liv Tyler is stunning. Caridee is a lot of fun and Jaslene is still so effing sweet. I love Katrina Bowden on 30 Rock but I didn’t get to say hi to her! Christian and Rachel Zoe both had a Brad with them. I really like most of what Rachel wears. If my mom meets Nigel Barker she is going to melt. I still actually like Alex McCord from the Real Housewives. Josh Madden is the hottest DJ there is, but I think he’s dating some bitch named Lisa. I hear Lisa is super bitchy, and a nasty bitch. He didn’t bring Lisa the bitch, though, so that was nice of him. Oh my God I just realized I know Lisa. Shit, I hope she doesn’t read this. She’ll probably say something bitchy to me about this, that bitch. Valentino looks exactly like you think he does. His clothes on display were incredible. I hope he never dresses Lisa, she’s such a bitch.
Afterward we were too late to make it to the Cringe book release, but we met up with Sarah briefly at a restaurant called Lorely on Rivington. The waiter was an asshole. I don’t like that place. But I like Sarah Brown! She’s not a bitch, like Lisa.

Four parties, one show, one book release, two music deadlines, and two photo shoots in four days. That’s what I’m right now in the middle of. Then comes the weekend, and then comes fashion week. I’m not complaining! It’s great. I just need some more coffee and maybe a pep pill the size of my fist.
Sarah M came over the other day to drop off my new foster child, one of her paintings. The colors go really well in my yellow living room.

Last night Christian and I saw Xanadu on Broadway. Tiny theater. Whoopi was great and Kira was funny. I still don’t understand why the play exists. Tonight I’m going to try to make it to both the Valentino party with Christian and the release of the book by Sarah Brown that I contributed a section to, called Cringe. They both start at the same time. I’m already tired.

Here’s a video by two friends of mine, starring Kandice Melonakos and directed by Elise Coker. I love it, particularly the fake artist names on the Billboard chart…
