[then, two minutes later in a new e-mail...]
Soulstatic (a.k.a Dan Martino) is a writer, DJ, and record junkie. (His parents are not impressed.) He has written about music, culture, and nightlife for The New York Times, Village Voice, New York Press, The Journal News, Time Out NY, Flavorpill, and Turntable Lab. In 2006, he founded the online radio station brooklynradio.net, where he serves as the content editor and program director. On a weekly basis, he produces The Dope Spot, a one hour show on Brooklyn Radio of eclectic music selections that bounces from rock to reggae, hip-hop to soul, and new to old. Besides the show, he’s played live for crowds big and small in New York City: at trendy clubs (Soho House), small Brooklyn lounges (Black Betty), and outdoor festivals (MoMA’s 2007 Summer Warm Up Series at PS1.) This past summer, he curated the music for Brooklyn Bridge Park’s summer movie series Movies With A View, providing opening theme soundtracks before sundown.

Well, since we’re all in YOUR town I must point out how impressive it is that you’ve managed to do so little on your own turf.
