all these buildings and mountains

the first real hot day of the season, i’m in my bedroom with the door closed, the curtains closed, two dim lamps making me feel 15 again (in a good way), and the air conditioner installed today and running… listening to great new music, relaxing and exciting at the same time. the republic tigers album is sooo good. remembering when i lived for a summer by myself in a virtual treehouse of a room, windows all around in a big circle, trees outside the third floor against my window and lots of plants hanging inside. remembering nights there with people. christmas lights dimly lighting that room and great music playing, and the air conditioner running, humming over the music. that was the summer i started making music of my own.

Did you know that the Tank tree died and was cut down earlier this year?

HJ and I went to commencement/reunion this past weekend and we sat on where-the-Tank-tree-used-to-be when we went to the OSCA picnic. There isn’t even a stump.
