Their Stockings Were Hung by the TV with Care

It’s officially Christmas! We put up our fiber-optic Christmas tree and our mismatched stockings from our moms. They’re under the stairs by the big TV.


The house is decorated with my collection of creepy ornaments, including some demon nutcrackers,

this surprised doll that I’ve had my whole life (whose twin brother in the sparkly green jumpsuit died last year when my dog Zeke ate him),

and this penguin and polar bear on a sled, who I think were nestled too close to a candy cane in storage a few years ago and came out blood-spattered and screaming.

    I almost bought us twelve tiny disco ball ornaments to hang on the tree today.

    I may actually do it tomorrow.
