We Are the Lucky Ones
This basically describes my ride home every day, from Overheard in New York: “Conductor: Ladies and Gentlemen, this is an extremely crowded F train. Next stop is Jay Street, and by this time it’s official, every person in New York is on this train. Please stand clear of the closing doors, if you can.” Today I rode the train with two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches wrapped in aluminum foil inside my bag. My black jeans are skinny and my black coat is baggy and maybe I look like a big black blow pop. And by that I mean something racist.
I slept nine hours last night! I passed out at 9:30, missed some things, and woke up at 6:30 this morning. Spent two hours watching TV, drinking a chai latte, and looking out the window. I also made a third peanut butter and jelly sandwich and ate it right there in the kitchen! Maybe this should be renamed to “The Gay and Quite Mundane Blog.” “And Also Something Racist.”
New music explosion! I’ve been listening to the new Rapture, Oohlas, and Robbie Williams; and one song off of Diddy’s CD (the one with Keyshia Cole, “Last Night”). It sounds like Felix Da Housecat produced it, and I know they were working together a couple of years ago. I looked around for the production credits and it seems that maybe it was Diddy himself. My favorites off The Rapture’s Piece of the People We Love are “First Gear” and “Whoo! Alright – Yeah…uh Huh.” Throw some drunk party girls on any dance track and I love it. On Robbie Williams it’s “Rudebox” and “The Actor,” and I can’t pick an Oohlas favorite. Kathy hates it, but I really like the new Killers “Bling” song, and a few others on the album. I also got a promo of the new Hidden Cameras, which I haven’t listened to yet but am excited to get to because I loved the last one.
Tonight I am watching some moobies with Kendra and taking her picture in all sorts of poses (yeah, that’s old school Bif Naked a la Buffy the Fucking Vampire Slayer because I am the biggest idiot and sometimes I have the worst taste in music ever, even though I’ve never seen one episode of that show, I just had her first album). And then I am going to HiFi to mingle with Sarah and her charms (and to bring her a t-shirt on which she will screen me a beautiful owl, which she will do for you, too, for very cheap). Then it’s off to Pianos (I know) because Fiona (the blonde Dudette) is having her party upstairs (parentheses).
