Scenes from our very unfinished (but coming together nicely) apartment:
Downstairs. Hamster on a TV tray = gay.

Downstairs living room. Little matching lampettes = gay.

Kitchen. Pumpkins in a bowl = gay.

Upstairs living room. Yeah, we have a parlor. What? Terra cotta parlor = gay.

My half-painted bedroom. This is where I make music and edit photos and wake up in someone else’s pee. Pee = gay.
The chilly winds and early evenings and attractive gentleman in my life make me want to just put on my stripy sweaters and drink hot things. Fall is the greatest season there is. I’m lucky to live in New York and still be able to smell the leaves on the ground when I walk home from the subway. There are trees changing colors and orange garbage bags with jack-o-lantern smiles printed on the sides, full of raked leaves. Some people have pumpkins on their stoops. We have apple cider and a pumpkin pie is definitely looming. This Friday I am doing what I do every year at this time, having a bunch of friends over to watch Hocus Pocus with food. It’s marvelously domestic, even if we usually just end up getting drunk and over-salting the seeds in the oven. Anna’s leaving for Mexico on Saturday morning and Jake is leaving tomorrow, so I won’t have either of them for Halloween. Stupid jerks, traveling without me during my favorite time of the year.
We finally got cable and internet transferred, so we spent the daylight hours of this weekend inside, watching HGTV and Adult Swim on demand and a horrible ABC Family movie called The Initiation of Sarah, a remake of a 70s “classic” (both boasted Morgan Fairchild).
On Saturday I got a kiss from Sinead and a lap dance from Sloane.

If by hid” you mean “managed not to throw up on Art Brut,” then you, sir, are correct.
